Mrs. Knight

      A graduate from Columbus State University, I love playing the flute and singing. I also have a passion for student learning. Music is important to me because it allows us to create and explore in a fun and safe environment. My class emphasizes exploring and learning with your whole body. We will make connections to learning in other classes and other areas of life while practicing creativity and innovation. Throughout the year we will study steady beat, rhythm, musical vocabulary, famous composers and musicians, instruments, singing, playing, dancing, composing, and much more.

     During afternoons and weekends I love spending time with my family, reading, and swinging. My favorite color is blue, and I like to eat pizza.

    I have completed Levels I and II of Orff-Schulwerk training which we will incorporate in our learning this year. Orff Schulwerk is a method of music learning that emphasizes student driven learning, full body involvement in music, as well as learning through play, improvisation, and composing.
